The School of Psychology & Neuroscience is fully committed to eliminating discrimination, actively promoting equality of opportunity and delivering fairness to all. The role of the School’s Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Committee is to foster a supportive, inclusive environment for staff, students and visitors that promotes equality and values diversity. We review policies, undertake consultations and propose ideas for changes with the aim of improving transparency and fairness within the School.
In 2018, the School was awarded an Athena SWAN silver award, in recognition of the School’s commitment to advancing the careers of women in science (the application has been redacted in line with Advance HE’s GDPR guidance).
The School’s Equality & Diversity (E&D) committee meets once per month (currently the first Thursday in the month), and additional Open Meetings provide an opportunity for all staff and students to engage in discussion on topics that are relevant to equality and diversity.
